39 on Flickr.Last Friday I picked my brother up from the airport and we roadtripped it up to Asheville, North Carolina for the weekend! Over the past three days we toured the Biltmore estate and gardens, met some farm animals in Antler Village, climbed up Chimney Rock and hiked down to Hickory Nut Falls, went whitewater rafting and got to swim through a rapid (okay a class one rapid, but still!), and just explored the nooks & crannies of Hendersonville and Asheville. It was an amazing adventure and even though I’m back to work today through Friday, the little punk is staying until Sunday! So I’m super excited to introduce him to the rest North Carolina has to offer and just spend time with him before he abandons me for UT Austin.

I conquered #crowdersmountain on Saturday with @maxdinatale and the views from the #overlook were incredible. {Psalm 19:1} (at Top of Crowders Mountain)

Yesterday I met up with Max DiNatale at Crowders Mountain and we hiked to the top to take some photos. Originally the plan was to take the shortest hike up since our purpose was picture-taking, not exercise. But we ended up accidentally taking the wrong trail so we ended up getting a 3 mile work out on a trail marked “strenuous!” The climb was way worth it though because the views from the rocky overlooks were incredible. - - - In other news, my brother is coming to visit for a week! He’s flying in on Friday and I’m going to pick him up and we’re road tripping it up to Asheville which is supposed to have that hipster/bohemian vibe so I’m really looking forward to spending time with that punk and getting in some cool pictures at cool places with him before he goes off to UT Austin.
